The Spanish Cancer Association (AECC)

The AECC is a non-profit organization dedicated to cancer care in Spain. It works on prevention, awareness, patient and family support, and funding cancer research. Its main goal is to improve the quality of life for those affected by this disease.

Improvement in Management and Communication

The AECC faced the challenge of improving management processes for volunteers, patients, and staff, aiming to provide a digital platform that would facilitate better organization and communication. The goal was to create an application that not only managed the operational needs of the association but also offered a sensitive and supportive experience for patients and volunteers.

Development of the Beneficiary App for AECC: Comprehensive Management of Volunteers and Patient Support

O2O has collaborated with AECC in creating and developing the Beneficiary App, an integrated platform for managing the various stakeholders within the association. The highlights of this project include:

  1. Sensitive and Trustworthy Experience for Patients: The app is designed to offer an experience that prioritizes sensitivity and trust, assisting patients in their personal journey and providing them with a supportive tool during their treatment.
  2. Increasing the Number of Volunteers: O2O has worked on strategies to attract and recruit more volunteers through the app, facilitating the registration process and providing clear information on how they can contribute to AECC’s mission.
  3. Management of the Volunteer Lifecycle: The app integrates all elements of the volunteer lifecycle: registration, training, needs management, communications, and activity organization, allowing for more efficient and organized management, enhancing their experience, and facilitating their participation.
  4. Retention and Reactivation of Volunteers: O2O has implemented features that not only keep current volunteers engaged but also help reactivate those who have stopped participating, strengthening their relationship with the association.
  5. Enhancing Relationship and Interaction with Users: The app improves communication and interaction between AECC and its users, facilitating access to information, events, and resources. This not only strengthens relationships with volunteers and patients but also helps build a more cohesive and supportive community.

This project has positioned AECC as a digital reference in the tertiary sector, utilizing continuous innovation to improve management and support for its beneficiaries. The Beneficiary App has not only optimized internal processes but also enriched the user experience, reinforcing the commitment and effectiveness of the association in its focus on cancer care.
